District Events: Pond Management Seminar

The District will be hosting a pond management seminar at Dale DeYoung's pond beginning at 5:30PM on Tuesday August 25, 2009. Rob Miller, Fisheries Biologist with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be on hand and will give general background on pond management. He will also answer specific questions on how to improve your pond, what type of fish are or are not appropriate, stocking rates and other pond management issues. The seminar will feature a pond shocking demonstration that will allow the attendees to see the type and size of fish that are in the pond. The pond is located at 3528 E. 3000N Rd., Bourbonnais.

The seminar is open to anyone who has an interest in ponds, and more information can be obtained by calling the District office at 937-8940, Ext. 3.
